Ponies Fall At Home to Kilgore

January 21, 2019 - Panola was unable to extend their winning streak to 9, instead falling at home 64-62 to Kilgore. After a back and forth first half, the Ponies were able to take a 28-23 lead into the locker room at half. Panola started off hot in the second half, extending their lead to 40-30. But Kilgore came right back. With the score tied 62 all, Kilgore got the ball inside and got a dunk to put them up two with 45 seconds to play. Panola would turn the ball over on the ensuing possession. Kilgore then missed two free throws to give the Ponies one last shot. Lenell Henry’s 6 footer bounced off the rim as time expired. The Ponies were led by Tylan Dean and Tariq Simmons who both had 11 points. Jeff Boyd added 10.

The loss drops the Ponies to 16-4 (6-2 Region XIV). They return to action Wednesday at Trinity Valley.
