September 27, 2016 - The 40th Annual East Texas Poultry Festival Kick-off events will be Wednesday, September 28, 2016. Events for the day are as follows:
- 11am - Chicken Fajita Lunch (Platinum Sponsor - East Texas Poultry Supply)
- 4:30pm - Doo Dah Parade (Platinum Sponsor - Center Tire Company; Gold Sponsors - Ihlo Sales & Import Company, Professional Title Service) The parade will circle the Historic Downtown Center Square, led by the Shelby County Junior Chamber of Commerce. Pre-registration for this popular event is not required. Participants are to line up at the Farmers State Bank Drive-Thru at 4:00pm.
- Immediately following the parade, with the judging at 5pm - Chicken Cooking Contest (Platinum Sponsor - Tyson Foods; Gold Sponsors - K&L Contractors, Triple J Feed)
