September 28, 2016 - The Shelby County Bass Anglers will host the 25th annual club Championship meeting on Tuesday, October 11th at 7pm at the residence of club President, Jason Wells. At the conclusion of the meeting, a Calcutta auction on the qualifying anglers will be held and this event is open to the public.
In 2002, the SCBA named the year end championship after charter member, Norris Askew, for all of his hard work and perseverance to establish a successful fishing club in Shelby County. Day one of this year’s championship will be held on Toledo Bend at Holly Park Marina on Saturday Oct 15th, followed by day two over at Cassells Boykin ramp on Lake Sam Rayburn.
In addition, the SCBA weigh trailer will be set up at the Poultry Festival selling raffle chances on multiple items. All proceeds from this fundraiser benefit many area youth with scholarships throughout the county and surrounding schools. The SCBA is very appreciative of all the sponsors and donors that help this club remain a thriving civic organization.
