Shelby County AG Mechanics Foundation 1st Annual Build Off

February 20, 2023 - Registration will be handled through Judging Card. Registration is $300. All entries are due no later than February 20, 2023 at 4pm. Paid on Judging Card. Lunch is included for your teams in the Entry Fee.

Date of contest: March 3rd, 2023 Starting at 7am. Location: Shelby County Expo Center, 980 SH 7 E Center, Texas 75935.

Project: 12,14, or 16-Foot Gate (Schools Choice) Made out of 14-gauge tubing. 
Awards: Top 3 places will receive Custom Belt Buckles
Teams: The teams will consist of 4 FFA students under the supervision of their AST (or designated school official).

• All the metal materials will be provided.
• All materials will be placed in front of each teams' designated work area.
• Each team must bring all their own power, tools, and equipment to construct their project.
• Each team is required to bring a fire extinguisher.
• There will be no equipment/ power supplied for any teams, so make sure to bring everything you need including a generator, stands, extension cords, welders, etc. What you bring is what you have, to work with. Bring your own electrodes!!
• MIG welders are allowed. Teams can use SMAW, TIG, or MIG process.
