March 27, 2024 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 27th day of March, 2024 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve and pay weekly expenses.
2. Public comments on Agenda item.
3. Approve current Payroll.
4. Discuss and approve the start date of April 1, 2024 for the new 911 Addressing Coordinator-Commissioners’ Secretary.
5. Open sealed bids from ARPA Request for Quotes on Pct. #4 work truck and possibly award the purchase, to be paid from ARPA funds.
6. Review the quotes and possibly purchase 32’ a tandem axle trailer for Pct. #4 from ARPA funds. Per Local Government Code, Section 262.023 the purchase is less than $50,000.00 therefore, bids were not required.
7. Take action to disburse the Child Safety Fee Fund.
8. Discuss and possibly take action to replace the roof on the Courthouse Annex.
9. Discuss and possibly approve Commissioner Jimmy Lout to sell a 2007 GMC 2500 HD Truck on Purple Wave.
10. Discuss and take action on SB22 Rural Sheriff’s Office Salary Assistance Grant.
11. Discuss and take action on SB22 Rural District Attorney Prosecutor’s Office Salary Assistance Grant.
12. Discuss and take action on SB22 Rural County Attorney Prosecutor’s Office Salary Assistance Grant.
13. Discuss and possibly approve moving fiber contract from AT&T to ETEX for an annual savings of $6,000. This would also be increasing their speed from 100mb to 500mb.
14. Discuss and possibly approve to put JP1 office on its own contract with ETEX. Cost will be $124.95 for 150mbps upload or $149.95 for 250mbps upload. Either would be ample for the office and phones with no connection charge.
15. Constable Pct. 5 Josh Tipton, Chad Hooper and a representative of Bobcat to discuss radios with the court.
