October 27, 2023 - Notice is hereby given that a Special meeting of the Governing body of the Shelby County Commissioners’ Court will be held on the 1st day of November, 2023 at 9:30 a.m. in the Courtroom of the Shelby County Courthouse at 200 San Augustine Street, Center, Shelby County, Texas to deliberate and consider action on the following items:
1. Approve and pay weekly expenses.
2. Public comments on Agenda item.
3. Discuss and possibly approve fiber internet connections with ETEX for the Juvenile Probation Office, AgriLife Building, and the Veterans Service office.
4. Discuss and possibly approve the Billing Agreement with Kilgore College for law enforcement training.
5. Discuss and possibly approve the Interlocal Cooperation Agreement with Harrison County, Texas to house Shelby County inmates at the per diem of $45 per day for twelve (12) or more and $50 per day for less that twelve (12).
6. Discuss and possibly approve an Agreement between Shelby County and Center ISD regarding the use of the vacant lot adjacent to the Shelby County College Center to stage building materials during the construction of CISD’s new gymnasium.
7. Discuss and possibly approve purchasing (4) additional sets of election equipment from ES&S with ARPA funds to support all elections in Shelby County.
8. Discuss and possibly adopt the Jury Selection Plan for 2023 at the recommendation of the District Courts to be in compliance with all portions of Chapter 62 of the Texas Government Code.
9. Discuss and possibly approve moving forward with the writing of a Master Plan for the Historical County Courthouse and the Historical Jail.
10. Discuss and possibly approve to purchase our own vending machine to place in the community room on the 2nd floor. The previous vendor removed the machines and they were never replaced.
11. Discuss and possibly approve Commissioner Pct. 4 to purchase a six-way blade attachment for his Case Track Loader through BuyBoard using ARPA funds.
