Shelby County Football for Week 9

All five Shelby County varsity football teams will be facing district competition this week.

The Center Roughriders are 4-3 this season and are now 1-0 in District 9 4A play after beating Tarkington High School, on October 11 at Roughriders Stadium by a 62-42 score. Center now will face Shepherd at Shepherd High School at 7:30 p.m. on Friday, October 25, 2019. The Shepherd Pirates are 2-5 overall and 1-1 in District 9 action. They won at Tarkington on October 18th by a 42-25 score.

The Joaquin Rams are 6-1 this season. They lead District 11 2A with a 3-0 mark. The Rams beat the Timpson Bears last week 21-14. The Rams travel to Beckville for a 7:30 p.m. game on Friday at Bearcats Stadium.

The Timpson Bears are now 3-5. They are 1-3 in District 11 action. They will host the Linden-Kildare Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Friday. The Tigers are 3-2, 1-2 in conference action. They last lost at Joaquin 60-15 on October 11.

The Shelbyville Dragons are 6-1 this season and they have a 2-0 District 12 2A mark, after beating West Sabine on the road last week, by a 43-8 score. The Dragons will host Hull-Daisetta for Homecoming at 7 p.m. on Friday.  The HDHS Bobcats are 2-4 overall and 0-2 in District 12 2A. They lost to Deweyville 56-14 last week.

The Tenaha Tigers lost at Harleton last week by a 28-13 score. They are 4-3 overall and they are 1-2 in District 11 2A play. They will host the Garrison Bulldogs on Friday at Tenaha. Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. Garrison is 3-4 overall, 2-2 in conference action. They won last week at Beckville 26-7.
