Shelby County Grand Jury Indicts 41 Cases Including Case Against a Tenaha Teacher

April 24, 2018 - A Shelby County Grand Jury handed down 41 indictments including a Tenaha Teacher for improper relationship between educator and student Thursday, April 19, 2018. The grand jury was impaneled for the January 2018 term of the 273rd Judicial District Court.

Billy Earl Greer was indicted for forgery against elderly individual, third degree felony. The indictment alleges, on February 6, 2017, Greer with intent to defraud and harm Louise Greer, an elderly individual 65 years of age or older, executed a writing so it purported to be the act of Louise Greer, who did not authorize the act. The writing was a check drawn on Louise Greer's Farmers State Bank account in the amount of $372.71.

Derwin Wayne Armstrong was indicted for burglary of a building, state jail felony. The indictment alleges, on July 5, 2017, Armstrong entered a building or portion of a building without the consent of Steve Justice, the owner, and attempted to commit or committed theft of a cart full of fireworks owned by Justice.

Steven Lynn Harkness was indicted for theft, third degree felony. The indictment alleges, on October 23, 2017, Harkness unlawfully appropriated, by acquiring or otherwise exercising control over contract services for hauling storm debris from Hurricane Harvey valued at $2,500 or more but less than $30,000 from Bill White, the owner.

Juania Lee Briggs was indicted for unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, state jail felony. The indictment alleges, on November 19, 2017, Briggs operated an automobile without the consent of Denisa Marie Huskey, the owner.

Abdifatah Mohamed was indicted for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, second degree felony. The indictment alleges, on January 17, 2018, Mohamed threatened Abdirisak Ali Muse with imminent bodily injury, and Mohamed did then and there exhibit a knife during commission of the assault.

Eric Eugene Page was indicted for assault on a public servant, third degree felony. The indictment alleges, on January 31, 2018, Page recklessly caused bodily injury to Center Police Officer Andrew Williams by biting Officer Williams on the inside of his right thigh. The indictment further alleges Page bit Williams on his right hand and Page knew Williams was then and there a public servant conducting a traffic stop.

Eric Eugene Page was indicted for assault on a public servant, third degree felony. The indictment alleges, on January 31, 2018, Page recklessly caused bodily injury to Center Police Officer Spencer Anderson by biting Officer Anderson on the right hand and Page knew Anderson was then and there a public servant conducting a traffic stop.

Eddie Joe Chisenhall was indicted for evading arrest, third degree felony. The indictment alleges, on February 2, 2018, Chisenhall while using a vehicle, intentionally fled from Officer Steven Thornburg, a person Chisenhall knew was a peace officer attempting to lawfully arrest or detain Chisenhall.

Curvie Brinson was indicted for evading arrest with a vehicle, third degree felony. The indictment alleges, on March 9, 2017, Brinson while using a vehicle, intentionally fled from Officer Steven Thornburg, a person Brison knew was a peace officer attempting to lawfully arrest or detain Brinson.

Robert Delanty Calhoun was indicted for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, third degree felony. The indictment alleges, on January 12, 2018, Calhoun knowing an official proceeding was in progress, intentionally or knowingly altered, destroyed or concealed evidence. It's further alleged Calhoun did this by placing a PCP-dipped Moore cigarette into his mouth, chewing it, and/or swallowed it, with intent to impair its availability as evidence in the investigation or in any subsequent official proceeding.

Adria Simone Polley was indicted for tampering with or fabricating physical evidence, state jail felony. The indictment alleges, on March 12, 2018, Polley knowing an official proceeding was in progress, intentionally or knowingly altered, destroyed or concealed evidence. It's further alleged Polley did this by hiding a PCP-dipped Moore cigarette under her legs with intent to impair its availability as evidence in the investigation or in any subsequent official proceeding.

Jarrad Kinney was indicted for burglary of a habitation, second degree felony. The indictment alleges, on March 5, 2018, Kinney entered a habitation without the consent of Allen Gossett, the owner, with intent to commit theft or attempted theft of a 65" TV, Playstation 3, electric hot plate, air fryer and Kitchen Aid mixer, owned by Gossett.

The indictment alleges, on January 12, 2018, Etievant presented or used a debit or credit card in the name of Billy Kyle Hendricks, with knowledge the card, whether or not expired, had neither been issued to Etievant nor used by her with the consent of Hendricks.

Edward Bernard Miles a/k/a E.B. Miles was indicted for assault family violence with prior convictions, third degree felony. The indictment alleges, on April 4, 2018, Miles recklessly caused bodily injury to Tyonronda Adams, a person whose relationship to or association with Miles is described by Section 71.0021(b), 71.003, or 71.005 of the Texas Family Code, by grabbing her arm and forcing his fingers inside her mouth. The indictment further describes Miles was previously convicted of the same charge.

Rodolfo Gray was indicted for assault family violence with prior convictions, third degree felony. The indictment alleges, on April 4, 2018, Miles recklessly caused bodily injury to Jimyria Garrett, a person whose relationship to or association with Gray is described by Section 71.0021(b), 71.003, or 71.005 of the Texas Family Code, by grabbing her arm and forcing his fingers inside her mouth. The indictment further describes Gray was previously convicted of the same charge.

Rodolfo Gray was indicted for burglary of a habitation, first degree felony. The indictment alleges, on February 13, 2018, Gray with intent to commit an assault against Roger Dale Shoemaker, entered a habitation without the effective consent of Shoemaker, the owner.

Nathan Randall Peace was indicted for sexual assault, second degree felony. The indictment alleges, on February 26, 2017, Peace caused sexual penetration of a child who was then and there younger than 17 years of age and not the spouse of Peace and by his sexual organ.

Cynthia Suzett Hughes was indicted for improper relationship between educator and student, second degree felony. The indictment alleges, on June 15, 2017, Hughes, an employee of Tenaha High School, communicated in a sexually explicit manner with a minor by sending nude photographs of herself via "Snapchat" to a minor who was enrolled at Tenaha High School.

Angel Gonzalez was indicted for indecency with a child, second degree felony. The indictment alleges, on May 4, 2017, Gonzalez engaged in sexual contact with a child younger than 17 years and not the spouse of Gonzalez by touching the breast of the child.
