Shelby County Kids Show Appreciation to Maryland Police Department

July 25, 2016 - Shelia Burch, formerly of Center, recently moved to Bowie, Maryland. This summer the grand kids have been visiting in Maryland and before they went back to Texas they wanted to do something for the police officers with all the negativity in the media. They chose to make goody bags for the officers to thank them for their service.

The girls delivered them to the Police Department. Lt. John Knott along with other officers happily accepted them. As the grand kids introduced themselves, the policemen gave each of them a bag of goodies as well for their gesture of kindness.

Shelia said, "I am proud of my granddaughters!"

This is the sweet email Shelia Burch received from Lt. John Knotts:

In today’s world the fact that they thought of us and wanted to do something for us means so much more than you can know.  It restores our belief in society and the better nature of man, reminding us of why we do this job.  Thank you for bring them by, they were a bright spot in our day that will not soon be forgotten.
