Shelby County Livestock Show, Sale 2018; Sale Set for Saturday

March 2, 2018 - The 2018 Annual Shelby County Livestock Show was held on Thursday, March 1, 2018 at the Shelby County Expo Center. The sale will be held Saturday, March 3rd, at the John Dean Windham Civic Center, meal starting at 6pm.

The show started at 10am with Rabbits. The rabbits were judged by Mr. Frank Farrow. In the Breeding Rabbit Doe Show, Reanna Arndt with Center FFA placed Grand Champion and April Ramsey with Timpson FFA placed Reserve Champion Breeding Doe. In the Breeding Rabbit Buck Show, April Ramsey with Timpson FFA place Grand Champion and Lexie Truitt with Center FFA placed Reserve Champion Breeding Buck. In the Market Rabbit show, Bethany Kaluza with Center FFA placed Grand Champion and Faith Alford placed Reserve Grand Champion.  

Mr. Carl Muntean, judged lambs, goats, swine and cattle. In the Market Lamb show, Mr. Hunter Sample with Timpson FFA placed Grand Champion with Kayleigh Scroggins with Timpson FFA bringing Reserve Grand Champion. Market Goats were judged next. April Ramsey with Timpson FFA placed Grand Champion Goat and Wesley Wages with Shelby County 4-H was Reserve Grand Champion Goat. In the Breeding Swine division, Callie Adams with Joaquin FFA was Grand Champion. Market Swine Grand Champion honor belongs to Alexis Clouse with Joaquin FFA and Reserve Grand Champion Lamb went to Stormie Meyers with Joaquin FFA. In the Market Steer show, Megan Dunn with Shelby County 4-H is Grand Champion and Tucker Gamble is Reserve Grand Champion Steer.

The Bar-B-Que for the buyer’s and exhibitors will start at 6pm followed by the auction at 7pm at the Windham Civic Center. “If you have a chance, come and see what the youth of Shelby County have been doing with their time.” Stated Lane Dunn, County Extension Agent. “The Shelby County Livestock show continues to grow each year which in part is due to the continued support of our youth by local businesses and the community.” The public is invited to attend the events of the day and support the youth of our county.
