Performances start nightly at 7:30pm
April 26, 2022 - The Shelby County Stampede Queen contest will take place on Saturday morning, April 30th with coronation being held during the Saturday night performance. The contestants are selling raffle tickets for a Model 510 Portacool unit to be given away Saturday also. The tickets are $2 each or 6 for $10. The ladies will be selling these during the rodeo on Thursday and Friday nights or you can contact Ann Blackwell at 936-590-1855 to purchase.
Queen Contestant
Ashton Watts - Ashton is the 16 year old daughter of Steve and Astrin Watts of Center. She is in the 11th grade at Martinsville High School. Ashton is a member of the Pineywoods Youth Rodeo Association and participates in the Shelby County Expo playdays. She plays varsity softball, track and cross-country. Ashton is a member of the Student Council and National Honor Society. She enjoys reading, cooking with her mom, babysitting her little brother and hanging with her big sister. Sponsored by her Roscoe McSwain, Queen contestant Ashton Watts.
Duchess Contestant
Lexie Morgan - Lexie is the 14 year old daughter of Jason and Julie Morgan of Jasper. She is in the 8th grade at Brookeland Jr High School. Lexie was a member of the TJHRA Region 5, where she was the Region 5 Princess for 2021. Lexi competes in Goat Tying. She was also the 2021 Tyler County Western Weekend Junior Sweetheart. Lexi is a Jr High cheerleader, plays basketball, runs track and competes in UIL. She enjoys photography, taking photos at rodeos, showing in Horse shows and riding her horses. Princess Contestants
Gracie Moody – Gracie is the 7year old daughter of Brad and Kaylyn Moody of Nacogdoches. Gracie is in the 2nd grade at Woden Elementary. She is a member of the Pineywoods Youth Rodeo Association and the East Texas Youth Rodeo Association. She competes in barrels and poles. Gracie was honored to be a flag carrier at the Nacogdoches rodeo this year. Gracie is an avid basketball and softball player. She also competes in UIL. Gracie loves to do crafts and anything outside. She is very involved in her church activities. Sponsored by Moody Lawncare, Princess contestant Gracie Moody.
Lila Rafferty – Lila is the 8 year old daughter of Matthew and the Honorable LeAnn Rafferty. Lila is in the 2nd grade at Joaquin Elementary. She is a member of the Pineywoods Youth Rodeo Association, Lone Star High School Rodeo Association and the National Little Britches Rodeo Association. She competes in barrels, poles, goat tying and breakaway roping. Lila is in the Gifted and Talented program. She enjoys gymnastics, training horses, reading and baking.
