Shelby County Under Severe Thunderstorm Warning (Updated 9:23pm)

Update: At 9:23 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Kennard, or 10 miles east of Crockett, moving east at 40 mph.

Update: At 8:58 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 8 miles west of Crockett, moving east at 40 mph.


April 26, 2023 - The National Weather Service in Shreveport has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Shelby County in eastern Texas, Northeastern San Augustine County in eastern Texas until 7pm CDT.

At 6:10pm CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Tenaha, or 7 miles northwest of Center, moving southeast at 35 mph.

Hazard: Ping pong ball size hail and 60 mph wind gusts.

Impact: People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind damage to roofs, siding, and trees.

Locations impacted include: Center, San Augustine, Tenaha, Patroon, Shelbyville, Bland Lake, Neuville, Huxley, Hurstown, James, Calgary, Jericho, Stockman, Arcadia, Jordans Store and Paxton.
