Members of the Shelbyville Dragon Band competed in the Region 21 ATSSB High School and Junior High All Region contest in December against students from classes 1A-4A. Out of more than 500 students at both contests, the following students placed high enough to earn chairs in the All Region Band.
Junior High All Region:
Kelsey Jones - Flute - 1st Alternate
Jacobi Jackson - Trombone - 2nd Chair Symphonic
Jazmine Osby - Tuba - 6th Chair Symphonic
H'Leighen McClelland - Tuba - 1st Chair Symphonic
High School All Region:
Kaci Griffin - Bass Clarinet - 2nd Alternate, Area Qualifier
Jessica Hemphill - Alto Clarinet - 2nd Chair Symphonic, Area Qualifier
Ty Fox - 2nd Chair Concert, Area Qualifier
All three High School students earned high enough chairs to audition for the ATSSB All State Band the performs in San Antonio at the Texas Music Educators Association Conference in San Antonio, TX. The Junior High and HIgh School All Region Band concert will be January 17th at Chapel Hill High School.
