March 6, 2018 - We are excited to announce that Shelbyville High School’s Boys’ Basketball team will be playing West Texas High School at the Alamodome on Friday (March 9th) at 8:30 a.m., in a 2A State Semi-Final game. The winner of Friday’s contest advances to play in the State Championship game on Saturday at 1:30 p.m.
Shelbyville High School has specially designated tickets for Dragon fans available for presale until Wednesday, March 7th at 3:00 p.m. These presale tickets are $16, cash only. Tickets can also be purchased online or at the Alamodome box office for $19 each. Children 2 years of age or younger not occupying a seat will be admitted free of charge. Please note the Alamodome has a Clear Bag Policy: To be approved for entry into the Alamodome, bags or purses must be clear, plastic, vinyl or PVC, and cannot exceed 12 inches x 6 inches x 12 inches in size. Small, one-compartment, clutch purses that do not exceed 6 inches x 6 inches x 6 inches (with or without a handle or strap) also will be permitted.
School will be held as scheduled on Friday, March 9, with an early release of 1:00 p.m. However, any student that misses school to attend the playoff game in San Antonio on Friday, will receive an “excused” absence if the student provides documentation they attended the game (i. e. a game ticket stub/receipt) to the appropriate campus administrator. If a student is not going to the game on Friday, he/she should plan on attending school.
Shelbyville ISD will be providing a “fan bus” to Friday’s game. Seats on the bus will be sold on a first come basis (45 seats are available). Cost for each rider is $35, cash only (a ticket to the game is included in the price). Any rider under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Children 2 years of age or younger not occupying a seat will be admitted free of charge. The bus will start loading in front of the Shelbyville High School Thursday night at 11:00 p.m. and depart at 11:30 p.m. One quick rest stop will be made on the trip. The anticipated arrival time to the Alamodome will be approximately 7:30 – 8:00 a.m. on Friday. Game time is at 8:30 a.m. The fan bus will return to Shelbyville after the Dragons game is completed. All school rules will be enforced, including no drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or weapons.
If the Dragons advance to the State Championship game on Saturday, a fan bus will again be provided. The bus will load up to a maximum 45 fans, on a first come basis, in front of Shelbyville High School. Cost for each rider is $20, cash only (a game ticket is not included in the price. Admission tickets to the game will need to be purchased online or at the event box office). All ticket sales must be cash. Any rider under the age of 17 must be accompanied by an adult. Children 2 years of age or younger not occupying a seat will be admitted free of charge. The bus will start loading up at 4:00 a.m. and depart at 4:30 a.m. One quick rest stop will be made on the trip. The anticipated arrival time will be approximately 12:30 – 1:00 p.m. Game time is at 1:30 p.m. The fan bus will return to Shelbyville after the game is completed. All school rules will be enforced, including no drugs, alcohol, tobacco, or weapons.
