July 5, 2016 - The Shelbyville Dragon T-Ball team won the Dixie Youth Baseball Division II South Regional Tournament (Bracket) in the Championship game against West Rusk with a final score of 26-21 in overtime in the 6th inning.
Shelbyville was undefeated during season and the tournament. In their final game against West Rusk the teams were tied 19-19 at the end of the 5th inning forcing them to go into overtime for an intense contest. The dragons scored the max of 7 runs in the top of the 6th inning bringing them to 26 on the board with the West Rusk team being last at bat. West Rusk scored two runs before Shelbyville ended the game getting the third and final out and a final score of 26-21.
Shelbyville will travel to Longview July 15th and 16th in a North versus South Regional matchup against Hooks. Best two out of three wins!
