Sheriff's Department Reports Ruiz Located

September 19, 2018 - Updated: Luis Alberto Ruiz was located September 19, 2018, in Georgetown and arrested by the Williamson County Sheriff’s Office. His arrest was made possible by tips from the community which led Williamson County officers to his location.

Ruiz was arrested at 3:42am and taken into custody without incident. He will be transported to Shelby County where 

he will face felony charges for FTA OC: Failure to Register as a Sex Offender; FTA OC: Failure to Comply with Registration Requirements; FTA: Sexual Assault of a Child; and Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements.

The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank the public and Officer Chris King with the Center Police Department for their assistance.


September 18, 2018 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s is seeking the whereabouts of Luis Alberto Ruiz, 23, of Center. Ruiz is described as a 5’8 Hispanic male and weighs approximately 178 pounds. He has black hair, hazel eyes and a small tattoo on his right thumb.

Ruiz is wanted for the following Felony charges: FTA OC: Failure to Register as a Sex Offender; FTA OC: Failure to Comply with Registration Requirements; FTA: Sexual Assault of a Child; and Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration Requirements. 

The SCSO is seeking the assistance of the public with locating Ruiz. If you have any information regarding his whereabouts, please contact Investigator Chad Brown at the SCSO - (936) 598-5601.

If anyone is found to be hindering the apprehension, harboring or concealing, providing or aiding with any means of avoiding arrest or effecting escape, or warns Ruiz of impending discovery or apprehension, will be arrested and charged in accordance to Penal Code 38.05 Hindering Apprehension or Prosecution, a Felony 3 offense.
