Tenaha HS Introduces Graduating Class of 2016

April 27, 2016 - Tenaha High School introduces the graduating class of 2016. Graduation is Thursday, May 26, 2016 in the Special Events Center at 7pm.

Colton Goeke

The Valedictorian is Colton Goeke. Colton Goeke is the son of Bill Goeke and Karen and David Fallin. Colton's grandparents are the late Shirley and Charles Brown and the late Jerry Nell and Fred Goeke. During his time at Tenaha High School, he completed 24 hours while maintaining a 4.0 GPA at Panola College. Colton was an all-around athlete who competed in football, basketball, track, and tennis. He was named all-state in football and basketball. He also made it to Regionals in tennis. Colton has been a member of Beta Club since the sixth grade and a member of Junior Chamber of Commerce since his freshman year. Colton will be attending Texas A&M where he will major in Engineering.

Caleb Garcia

The Salutatorian is Caleb Garcia. Caleb Garcia is the son of Angel and Flor Garcia and a brother to Andres Garcia and will be graduating from Tenaha High School. He has achieved the goal of graduating with the class of 2016 with a 3.7 grade point average. Caleb has been very active in school and has been involved in many organizations such as in his local church, Beta, and JCC. In school he has also been involved in soccer and robotics throughout his High School career. Caleb has always shown to be a very bright young man who strives at achieving every goal he sets his mind to. He is one of the few students to take college algebra his senior year and has also managed to complete 24 college credits. Caleb is planning on attending Stephen F. Austin University, with the goal of obtaining a Bachelor's degree in nursing and ultimately becoming a nurse practitioner.

Thomas Bryant is the son of Jeff Bryant and Jennifer Kay Dailey, grandson of Robert W. Bryant and Mary Bryant. He plans to attend Panola College for Petroleum Technology. He has participated in FFA as a member of the Wildlife team.

Colecia Calloway is the daughter of Khenkeysha Calloway and the granddaughter of S.L. Calloway and Evelyn Calloway. She plans to attend Panola College and study Kinesiology. She played basketball and is a member of the Tenaha Tiger Band.

Luis Armando Campos Rivera is the son of Octaviana Rivera and Jose Campos. He has participated in soccer and football and was selected to first team All-District.

Blane Cummings is the son of Heather Rhodes and Timothy Cummings and is the grandson of Maxine Strahan and Lucy and Herman Cummings. He plans to attend Sam Houston State University to study Computer Science and has earned 24 dual credit hours. He has participated in football and was selected as Defensive Newcomer of the Year and first team All-District. He also participated in band and robotics and was a member of Beta Club and Junior Chamber of Commerce.

Ke'Anya Davis is the daughter of Belrice Henderson. She plans to attend college and major in Audiology. She played basketball for 4 years earning All-Region basketball, MVP Offense basketball, Player of the Week and All Tournament Award in Holiday Hoops Basketball in 2015. She participated in track for 4 years earning Regional Finalist. She is an active member of the Tenaha Youth Center and a member of the Junior Chamber of Commerce. She has been very active in local youth sports including softball, little dribblers, and baseball.

Calvin Estes is the son of Wayne Estes and Cindy Mathis and the grandson of Helan Estes. He has participated in football, soccer, and basketball. In football he earned honorable mention

Jesus Flores is the son of Esther Flores and Jesus Flores. He has been active in sports playing soccer. 

Judith Flores is the daughter of Maria Felix and Ramon Flores. She plans to attend Panola College and study nursing. She has played soccer and been a member of the Tiger Band.

Roberto Flores is the son of Ana Maria Flores and Roberto Flores. He plans to attend Panola College and enter an industrial field of study. He has been active in sports playing soccer, cross country, football and track. He is a member of the Tiger Band and Beta Club.

Isaiha Gentry is the son of Robert Killen. He intends to join the Army. He participated in football, basketball and track.

Ashton Griffin is the daughter of Detria Gray and granddaughter of Donnie Washington. She plans to attend Panola College in the field of nursing. She participated in varsity basketball for 4 years, varsity track 3 years, first team All-District 2 years, second team All-District, Honorable Mention Regional Qualifier in Track and Field 3 years, and the Tiger Band 3 years. She is a member of FFA and JCC.

Alyssa Harris is the daughter of Carolyn and Jessie Lee Cooks. She plans to attend Panola College in the field of nursing. She participated in basketball, track and was three times Regional Qualifier. She is a member of the JCC.

Keith Holland is the son of the late Jim Holland and Pamela and Lezlie Hicks. He is the grandson of Danny and Geniva LaGrone and Elaine and Donald Hicks. He plans to attend Panola College and study Business. He played baseball and football. He is a member of FFA and participated in livestock judging, and show team.

Mikaela Hutchison is the daughter of Terry and Katha Hutchison. She plans to attend Angelina Junior College and later transfer to Stephen F. Austin University to study Animal Science. She participated in band 1 year and FFA 2 years. She was crowned the 2016 Prom Queen.

Maria Jurado is the daughter of Sylvai Monroy Torres. She plans to attend Panola College for  Phlebotomy. She has participated in the school's workforce program.

Tristan Kellar is the son of Danny Kellar and grandson of Nancy Kellar. He plans to enter the field of automotive body and mechanics. He earned District Champion in Cross Country and 5 years of orchestra playing violin and cello. He has earned 2 ASE certifications in Auto Tech Program and achieved AYES Automotive Intership. He is a member of JROTC his freshman year and a member of the AYES Internship.

Latishanna Landon is the daughter of Sharee Goodwin and granddaughter of Joy Goodwin and Asie Goodwin. She plans to attend Panola College in the field of nursing.

Carlos Loredo is the son of Ramiro Loredo and Patricia Torres. He plans to attend Panola College in the medical field of study. He is active in sports playing football, soccer, track, cross country, and is a member of the Tiger Band.

Eva Mendoza is the daughter of Alberto Mendoza. She plans to attend Panola College in the field of nursing. She is active in sports playing soccer.

Tyler Muckelroy is the son of Ken and Tammie Muckelroy and the grandson of Billy and Helen Rodgers and Harlene Muckelroy and the late James Muckelroy. He plans to attend Texas A&M University and has already earned 12 credit hours. He plans to study Business and pre-law. He earned football All-District his junior and senior year and baseball All-District his junior and senior year. He is a member of FFA, Beta Club, JCC and is Class President.

Natalia Nelson is the daughter of Natalie Harris and granddaughter of Lela Beth Harris and Jack Harris. She plans to attend Tyler Junior College in the field of nursing. She has participated in band, danceline, basketball, and was voted most school spirited girl for 4 years. She is a member of the Tenaha Youth Center and volunteers with the Meals on Wheels program.

Christina Lynn Patterson is the daughter of David Patterson and Donna and David Anderson. She is the granddaughter of Sam and Wanzie Wheeler, Jerry and Flora Rudd, Victor and Belinda Anderson, and Bertha Maples. She plans to attend Panola College and has already earned 6 dual credit hours. She plans to study Deaf Education. She participated in cheerleading 4 years, band 4 years, and soccer 4 years. She is a member of JCC for 1 year.

Reese Patterson is the son of Tim and Rhonda Patterson and the grandson of Joyce and Norman Hurt. He participated in Student Workforce Program and achieved perfect attendance. He is a member of Pleasant Hill Church of Christ.

La'Porsha Perry is the daughter of the late Nicole Perry and granddaughter of Asie Goodwin and Joy Goodwin. She plans to attend Panola College in the field of nursing. She participated in basketball, cheer leading, band, dance line, track, and cross country. She received All Team Tournament trophy and a Letterman jacket for band. She placed in Regional Meet for Track. She is Miss THS.

Charles Reed is the son of Amanda Lynn Treat and grandson of Tommy Lawson and Claudia Lawson. He played football..

Jakedrick Rountree is the son of Pamela Reed-Garrett and the grandson of Murty Reed and Roley Reed. He plans to learn Real Estate. He participated in band earning outstanding award for four years in row. He was crowned Homecoming King and Prom King. He is Mr. THS. He is a member of JCC and played piano for St. Luke Baptist Church. 

Jacob Samford is the son of Ronny and Rhonda Samford and grandson of Shirley Samford and Brenda Powell. He plans to attend Stephen F. Austin and has earned 24 college credit hours. He plans to study Music Education. He participated in band earning All-State Trombone Player, Beta Club and Robotics.

Ana Segovia is the daughter of Flov Mendoza and Jubeit Segovia. She plans to attend Panola College in the field of nursing. She participated in band and played soccer.

Trevin Stewart is the son of Jeff Stewart and Sharon Stewart and Sedonia Sebren. He plans to attend Texas State Technical College (TSTC) for drafting and design. He participated in football 4 years and baseball 4 years. In football he earned first team All-District and State Finalist. He is a member of FFA.

Janeth Trejo is the daughter of Juan and Teresa Trejo and granddaughter of Victoria Uribe and Antonio Uribe. She plans to attend Tyler Junior College in the field of nursing. She participated in band, soccer, cross country, track and is a Tiger Doll.

James R. Wagstaff is the son of John and Tonya Wagstaff. He participated in football and band as a trumpet player. He earned first team All-District. He was a member of the Beta Club.
