November 16, 2017 Nacogdoches – The Board of Directors and Executive Director of the Texas Forest Trail Region welcome Dana Goolsby as new Special Projects Coordinator. Goolsby owns My East Texas (MYETX.com) and is a freelance writer and photographer, with her most recent works appearing in Texas Highways Magazine, the Official Travel Magazine of Texas. She will assume her duties with the Forest Trail immediately.
Goolsby brings more than fifteen combined years of professional experience in the small business and non-profit sectors, marketing and advertising, special events coordination, writing, photography, social media, web development, volunteer recruitment, research, and advocacy.
"We are so excited to welcome Dana to our organization," said Forest Trail Executive Director Marty Prince. “Dana and MyETX have been longtime supporters of the Heritage Trails Program, and over the last four years, she has become an invaluable ally, advocate, and supportive friend. We could not be more thrilled to bring her onboard officially.”
A sixth generation Texan, born in the oldest county in Texas, Goolsby has a passion for East Texas’s unique history and culture. Today she resides in Palestine, Texas, home of the most historic markers on the Texas mainland, and travels the region and the state documenting her experiences from culinary destinations, hidden gems, and travel tips, to history, folklore and the great outdoors.
