November 13, 2017 - I would like to thank the Joaquin community for their support of the book drive that was held for the “Adopt a Classroom” program that I participated in with Klein High School. The book drive was a huge success; we collected hundreds of books and $400 to help Mrs. Lori Favela’s 9th grade English class. Mrs. Favela and her teaching partners will keep the books in their classrooms to build their own library for easy student access and will use the money to help many of their students who have lost everything.
It was such a blessing to be able to represent our Joaquin community. Mrs. Favela wanted everyone who contributed to know how thankful she and her students were for our donation. After meeting Mrs. Favela, I know the books and money will be put to good use.
