Tiger Daily: Back to School, Friday Night Football

August 24, 2015 - Tenaha Tiger Daily

The Tigers are Back - School in Session
568…. That’s how many young Tigers woke up, got dressed, loaded the buses and cars, and came to the first day of the 2015-16 school year. The TISD Administration team is anticipating that number to grow a little over the coming days and reach as many as 575 possibly.

The 2014-15 school year ended with 567 students in Tenaha schools and enrollment has remained steady between 560-580 for a little over two years. 2015-16 is also a UIL realignment year so enrollment numbers at the high school are very important.

On today’s first day of classes, Tenaha High School welcomed 148 students. The cutoff between 2A and 3A in 2014 was 221 students; however, the cutoff between Division 1 and Division 2 for football alignment was 157 students. No word has been given by the UIL about what this year’s number will be.

Classes are underway, and students are expected to do some amazing things both in the classroom and out.
