Timpson Band Earns First Place at NAMMB

November 3, 2015 - On Saturday, October 31 the Timpson High School Bear Band performed at the National Association of Military Marching Bands (NAMMB) competition held at Carthage High School. The band won First Place in Class 2A and also won the coveted “Bobby Goff Superior Performance Award”.

Some of the judges’ comments from the competition were: “Nice low brass!!” “Good rank alignment. Carriage is great—effort and pride are apparent!” “Good drill design! Uniforms are striking.” “Diagonals were really good on downfield marching!!” Nice low brass throughout!” “Good ensemble sound!” “Nice drill design! You knew exactly what you were supposed to be doing.” “Great discipline!”

The THS Band earned a First Division rating at the Region 21 UIL Marching Contest at SFA on October 17 and was an Area Finalist (5th place) at the UIL Area C Marching Contest in Carthage on October 24. The precise performance on Saturday and the awards won at NAMMB provided an excellent ending to a wonderful marching season. Great job, Bear Band!
