March 12, 2020 - Notice is hereby given that a meeting of the governing body of the above-named City will be held on the 17th day of March, 2020 at 5:30pm at the City Hall, 456 Jacob Street, Timpson, Texas, at which time the following subjects will be considered, to-wit:

4. Council Items: Reports by the members of the City Council on matters not on the agenda will be made at this time. A total, not to exceed 10 minutes will be devoted to these reports.

6. Citizens Input: This time is provided for members of the public to address the City Council on items that appear within the Consent and Action Items or a matter not listed on the agenda. Each speaker is limited to 3 minutes. A Citizens Input Form may be filled out and filed with the City Secretary prior to the meeting.

C. Municipal Court Report: For the month of February, there were 24 citations issued and 34 violations, 0 to juveniles, and 2 to minors. The total amount generated for the City was $2,822.70.
D. City Secretary: Misty Burgess, Council Member Teri Alexander completed the Open Meetings Act and the Public Information Act on-line courses. If any of the Council Members are interested, please let me know and I can direct you to the website. The TVFD held their Officer’s election last Tuesday and there were no changes in roles: Chief – Tuffy Green, Asst. Chief – Corey Green, Treasurer – Pete Andrews, Secretary – Talitha Green, I.D.O. – Tammy Broadway, Training Officers – 1st Zach Short/2nd Brock Strong. The Captain haven’t been named yet. The dumpster will be in town next month on Saturday, April 4th.
8. Consent Agenda: Items included under the Consent Agenda require little or no deliberation by the Council. Approval of the Consent Agenda authorizes the City Secretary to proceed with the conclusion of each item as reflected in the Minutes of this meeting.

D. Approve Ordinance 2020317-02, which replaced Ordinance 01202015-01, with date of 03/17/2020 for the Drought Contingency Plan.
E. Approve Ordinance 20200317-03, cancelling the May 2, 2020 General Election as permitted under Section 2.051 of the Texas Election Code.
Regular Agenda Items (9 –12)
9. Discuss and take action: Discuss and take action to adopt a resolution to hold the Council meetings at the Timpson Public Library OR vote to rescind the vote from the January meeting to hold the Council Meetings at the Timpson Public Library.
10. Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider renewal of Gareth Yoder’s mowing contract, continuing the same rate of $1,875/month effective April 20, 2020 thru April 19, 2021.
11.Discuss and take action: Discuss and consider approval for the quote from Mall Energy for the annual maintenance of the generator equipment for $3,590.00.
12. Discuss and take action: Discuss and approve the notification to Waste Connections via certified letter that the City will be accepting bids for the garbage collection contract effective January 1, 2021.
