Timpson Emergency Personnel Respond to Major Crash, Or Did They?

October 20, 2016 - Timpson Volunteer Fire Department, Volunteer Ambulance service and the police department were all dispatched to the scene of a major single-vehicle crash on FM 947 Wednesday, October 19, 2016, or did they?

When emergency personnel arrived on scene just after 8:36pm, the vehicle involved was in a creek bed just inside the city limits of Timpson. Everyone inside the vehicle was moved from the car to a waiting ambulance and were transported from the scene. Hopkins Wrecker Service then worked to remove the vehicle from the deep ravine.

Upon arrival at the scene of the reported crash, Shelby County Today learned there had not in fact been a crash. Instead emergency responders were on the scene of a mock crash where a vehicle is placed at a location with actors portraying victims of a crash while emergency personnel is dispatched to what they believe is a real crash for the purposes of training.
