Timpson High School Band Earns First Division at UIL Marching Contest

October 23, 2018 - On Saturday, October 20 the Timpson High School Band earned a first division rating at the UIL Region 21 Marching Contest held at Homer Bryce Stadium at SFA. This year is an “advancing year” for class 2A, so the first division rating enabled the band to advance to the Area round. The UIL Area C Marching Contest will be this Saturday, October 27 at Pine Tree High School in Longview. Timpson will march at 4:00pm. The top three bands in class 2A will advance to the UIL State Marching Band Contest at the Alamodome in San Antonio on November 6. The students are very excited about the opportunity to compete at the next level!

“You’re playing some hard music and doing it well!”

The band has ten seniors this year: Rebekah Parks-flute, Cassidy Clifton- clarinet and majorette, Samaria Richard- clarinet, Ja’karia Deckard- bass clarinet and head majorette, Dallas Dennis- trumpet, Allysha Stephens- trumpet, Devin Kimzey- trombone, Jose Galavis- trombone, Taylor Roth- percussion, and Shykeem Washington- percussion. The band is directed by Rhonda Daniel and John Dupnik.
