December 26, 2017 - Timpson Area Chamber and Commerce and Timpson Economic Development Corporation announces the first official Disc Golf Tournament in SoSo Park, January 1st 2018 in SoSo Park, Timpson Texas.
The New Year’s Day Mini Tournament is hosted by Jamie Callis and all is invited to attend as contestants or spectators. This will be a random draw doubles mini (throw off if none hits an ace.) Sign up at 10 AM New Year’s Day in the Community Building in SoSo Park with tee off about 10:30.
The new Timpson Disc Golf course has been designed to be a challenging course that we expect to rank high in Professional Disc Golf Association. This course is the 9th course that Craig Lewis has designed and built. Timpson Disc Golf is located in SoSo Park. We expect to draw more than 100 players during some tournaments and have a steady flow of disc golfers, ranging from amateurs to experienced competitors, all year-round. Like with any Chamber and Economic Development project our goal is to bring people to the area that will not only play a round of disc golf but will shop in our stores and have a meal in our restaurants. The Disc Golf course is designed to bring players form all around and we are excited to be the first one here in Shelby County.
