November 16, 2017 - (Album1, Album2) - Timpson ISD and American Legion Post 90 hosted a Veterans Day Program on Friday, November 10.
Cheerleaders and twirlers escorted Veterans into the program to a standing ovation by a full gym of students, staff and community members. The Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) led by Mr. Vernett Richardson presented the Colors in an impressive ceremony. Kindergarten, fourth graders and seniors presented cards, flags and letters to the veterans.
Mr. Fred Wilcox gave an emotional, impressive speech explaining the history of Veterans’ Day and the sacrifices made by veterans in service to their country.
Students Seth Duke, Celeste Bush, Celine Bush, Ashlyn Lindgren and Blake Johnson presented readings expressing appreciation for our veterans.
Jim Crump of Post 90 presented a flag to Timpson ISD Superintendent Mid Johnson to show the veterans appreciation for the district’s support of the veterans.
The Timpson High School staff honored veterans and their spouses with a luncheon in their honor in the library.
