February 3, 2017 - Timpson ISD Bear Update
THS Basketball News – Congratulations to the Lady Bear basketball team for their victory over Shelbyville 48-33. The Bear JV team also defeated Shelbyville 34-26. The Varsity Bears lost a hard fought battle 65-42. The coaches and teams appreciate the THS cheerleaders cheering for them and the support of the fans that come to their games. Photos are attached.
THS Beta Club News - The Timpson High School Beta Club is selling love grams for Valentine Day. Each candy comes with candy and free delivery and only cost a dollar! This project is a fundraiser which is used for Beta Club projects and activities. Click for order form.
Teens In The Drivers Seat - The Timpson High School Family and Community Services class conducted the Ride With Me activity on Tuesday, January 31st at the high school basketball games. It is sponsored by Teens in the Driver Seat and Texas A&M Transportation Institute. It is a teen-to-parent initiative to help reduce teen crashes. This activity promotes education of GDL and risks teens face behind the wheel by providing materials and information for teens to present to parents.
Healthy Eating - In addition to the healthy meals students have available to them in the Timpson ISD free breakfast and lunch program, students also need healthy afterschool snacks. Attached are some ideas for healthy after school snacks from the Title I School Support and Family/Community Engagement Initiative. Attachments are in English and Spanish.
