September 17, 2015 - THS Band Members Remember 9/11
On Friday, September 11 THS trumpet players Madelyn Ramsey, Bradley Young, Allysha Stephens, and Brandon Addison joined four trumpet players from the Beckville High School Band on the field at half time in a tribute to the lives lost on September 11, 2001. All eight trumpet players played Taps in unison at the conclusion of both bands’ performances. They did a tremendous job and TISD would like to thank these students for their contribution.
Beta Club Fundraiser
Timpson High School Beta Club sponsor Tina Samford said the club members will begin selling Boo Bags next week. Each Boo Bag will contain a variety of candies and will sell for only $1.00! Boo Bags are a great, inexpensive way to say thanks, show appreciation, to say “you’re awesome”, to express friendship or for any other reason. The best part of buying a Boo Bag is that proceedswill be used for an outstanding Beta Club project “Take a Teen Shopping”. Beta members hope to raise enough money to take every Timpson sixth grader on a shopping trip in December. Beta recognizes that many times older children do not receive Christmas gifts because parents, and charitable organizations try to ensure first that younger children get gifts from Santa. Please join us with this important project and show someone you care by purchasing a Boo Bag from the Beta Club.
THS Science News
Timpson High School biology and anatomy and physiology classes are learning about the organization of life and body systems. They took a look into a fetal pig's anatomy to understand the function of bodily organs and how they work together.
