THS Bass Club News – The THS Bass Club will compete in a fishing tournament at Lake Sam Rayburn this Saturday, February 6th. Weigh-in will be at Umphrey pavilion between 3-4 p.m. Timpson’s Bass Club is comprised of two teams and the club is part of the Shelby County Jr. Bass Anglers. THS students Chandler Burgay, Hunter Smith and Holly Hughes will be competing in this weekend’s tournament. The tournament is part of the Southeast Texas High School Fishing Association’s 2015-16 season and will finish with a championship in June. Prizes include assorted fishing tackle and cash. Scholarship opportunities are available to top finishing teams at the end of the season. All tournament locations will be at Lake Sam Rayburn. Past SETX tournaments have been among the largest in the country. Timpson’s Bass Club will compete next on March 7th.
