Bond Bits – The TISD bond proposal maximizes state funding. With this bond, approximately 43% of the payment will be paid for by the state. If we do not approve the bond we will not receive this funding. This amounts to around $4,000,000 in extra state funding.
STAAR Test – The State of Texas Assessments of Academic Readiness STAAR test (STAAR) will be taken by students in grades 4-10 this week. Please see scheduling of tests under Weekly Calendar of Events. In order for students to do their best on these tests we ask that parents ensure that their children get a good night’s rest, eat a healthy breakfast at home or at school and arrive at school on time. Parents can also help their children by encouraging them to do their best on the test. Results from the test will be mailed home by the end of May.
TISD Students Participate in Special Olympics - Submitted by: Dana Evans - Bradley Smith and Claycee Renick travelled to Shelbyville ISD on March 23rd to participate in a Special Olympics track and field meet. Special Olympics coaches were: Chad Lawrence, Brittany Kimbro and Cathy Windham. Bradley placed First in the 10M assisted walk and placed Second in the tennis ball throw. Claycee placed First in the girls 50 m dash and First in the softball throw. Congratulations to these students, their coaches and their families! Timpson ISD is extremely proud of our Special Olympians!
