January 31, 2019 - Timpson ISD Bear Update
FFA News
The Timpson FFA Heifer Show team had a great weekend at the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo. This was a record setting year for the show with a total of 2,600 heifers entered and exhibited. Timpson FFA had six of those heifers. We are proud to say that all of our exhibitors finished in the top 7 of their class. Brecken Kimbro (3rd grade) won first in his class and was named Best of Polled for the 2019 Show, Ally Kimbro (8th grade) was 2nd in her class, Mayson Harbison(5th grade) had a 3rd place in class, Cale Cornelius (7th grade) was 4th. April Ramsey (11th grade) finished 7th in her class of Simmental Heifers, and Baylor Kimbro (7th grade) was 6th place in his class. It was a great time for our exhibitors and their families and we are very thankful that we are able to be a part of this experience with them.
The Show team traveled to Henderson Texas during the weekend of the 19th where Brecken Kimbro was named Grand Champion Santa Gertrudis Female and Reserve Grand Champion American Heifer, Mayson Harbison won the honors of Champion Junior Showmanship Champion and won his class, Ally Kimbro was Reserve Champion Santa Gertrudis Female, Cale Cornelius had a class winner and a second place, Baylor Kimbro had two second places with his heifers and a 3rd place with his ABC steer, while April Ramsey finished second with her star 5 heifer, and Avery Metcalf won her class with her goat.
We are very proud of how our show teams are doing and how hard they are working. There are several shows coming up that include:
Winter Blow out Jackpot: February 2nd (Steers, Heifers, Lambs, Goats) open to all exhibitors
Van FFA Jackpot Show : February 16th (Lambs, Goats, Swine) open to all exhibitors
San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo: Heifers
Shelby County Livestock Show: All animals

Congratulations, Jacob Searcy, Fightin' Texas Aggie, Class of 2023! Jacob has been accepted to Texas A&M University and plans on majoring in pre-med to become a dentist. Great job!

Elementary Book Fair
It’s time for the Elementary Book Fair! The Book Fair will begin Monday, February 4th and go through Friday, February 8th.
Monday - Thursday closing time is at 2 p.m.
Friday closing time is at 10 a.m.
