WSCVFD, CFD Fight House Fire on FM 711

February 12, 2018 - West Shelby County Volunteer Fire Department (WSCVFD) were dispatched to, and fought a house fire Monday, February 12, 2018 at 6:49am and they were assisted by the Center Fire Department (CFD).

When firemen with the WSCVFD arrived at the residence of Brian Horton, just over five miles from SH 7 West, the fire was fully involved with the house.

CFD firemen were then dispatched to the location to assist WSCVFD. Flames had breached the roof and were emanating from the middle of the house.

Two vehicles were destroyed during the fire on the back side in a garage area. That area appeared to firemen to have been the origin of the fire.

Once the fire was able to be extinguished from the outside, the firemen gained entry into the home and were able to finish putting fire out inside.

Meanwhile, other firemen went into the home and extracted belongings including clothes, blankets and a variety of other things from inside the house.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time and no injuries were reported resulting from the fire.

CFD firemen returned to the station at 10:30am and WSCVFD firemen returned to their station at 11:15am.
