August 25, 2020 - Highway 96 North is heavy with traffic as evacuees are making their way north to avoid Hurricane Laura. Be alert to traffic delays especially if trying to cross over US 96.
August 24, 2020 - As of Monday, August 24th, in-person instruction has started all across Shelby County with Center, Excelsior, Joaquin, and Timpson kicking off their 2020-2021 school year. Center Christian Academy started August 10th and Shelbyville and Tenaha both started last week on August 17th.
Please use caution as buses are back on the roadway transporting our students.
August 20, 2020 - According to an article in the Lufkin Daily News, help is available for those struggling to afford their needed medications. The non-profit Community RX Help can assist people with their needed medications from the pharmaceutical companies for free.
Community RX Help is funded by the Nacogdoches Area United Way, the T.L.L. Temple Foundation and local donations. It serves the counties of Nacogdoches, Angelina, San Augustine, and Shelby.
August 13, 2020 - Two fire departments, law enforcement, and emergency responders were paged to two back-to-back crashes on SH 7 Wednesday evening, August 12, 2020.
August 10, 2020 - A truck-tractor pulling a live haul trailer overturned on FM 2427 Monday, August 10 at 12:40pm and blocked the roadway until the scene was cleared at 5:20pm.
