December 14, 2016 - The Beatles recorded a song back a few years ago titled "Let It Be". The gist of the song had to do with the wisdom that was in the words that the young Mary spoke when confronted by the angel Gabriel when he informed her that she had been chosen by God to carry His son. You see Mary didn't understand how all this was going to happen asking, "How can this be, since I do not know a man?" The angel explained it to her in detail.
December 7, 2016 - I am always amazed at the effectiveness of simplicity. It seems that the more simple something is, the better it is, and more enduring it is over time. God has always used simple things to change the world. Any simple thing done with love, God takes and turns into a great thing.
December 1, 2016 - I love the Christmas season. I love everything about it. I love the lights, the food, the smiles, the fellowship, the sappy Christmas movies on Hallmark channel, but most of all I love the music. Christmas carols are beautiful and each one has a message that is rich in history. I want to share the history of a few of these songs over the next couple of weeks.
November 22, 2016 - This is the time of the year we all begin to think back on things that remind us of the holidays. We remember old friends, old times, and holidays past. For some, the holidays bring about depression and sadness. We have a choice of how we feel. Whether you are happy or sad over the holidays is a choice that you make.
October 31, 2016 - Have you ever heard someone say, "If I did that I could never forgive myself." You may have this feeling because of something that you have done. No matter what happens in your life from that point on you tend to always go back to that mistake as defining point in your life. It not only affects what you think about yourself but what you think of others.
October 11, 2016 - As I drove down the highway my mind wandered. It was a beautiful afternoon, but my mind was filled with prioritizing all the things I had yet to do that day.
I was taking in the scenery of the beautiful East Texas countryside when out of the corner of my eye I looked into the rearview mirror and seen the flashing lights. I was being pulled over by a DPS officer.
October 5, 2016 - The great wall of China was built by the ancient Chinese to protect them from their enemies to the north. It was built too high to climb over, too thick to break down, and too long to go around. It was the perfect security.
September 14, 2016 - There once was an old farmer who was walking along a turn row going home after a long days work in the fields. As he walks he hears a voice from the ground saying, "Hey, pick me up." As he looked around he didn't see anyone around so he began his walk again. Once again he heard, "Hey, please pick me up." As he looked down at a mud hole that he was walking past, he noticed a small frog looking up at him. The frog spoke up and said, "Please pick me up.
August 31, 2016 - It was a beautiful morning as the young sailor walked up the gang plank onto the deck of the ship. He couldn't believe the day had finally arrived. It was the day that he, an Ensign on a large military ship was going to get the chance to be in control at the helm as the ship leaves port. He had gone through the deportation process over and over in his head. He knew it by heart. As he climbed into the captain’s chair he could feel the power of the ships massive engines vibrating the whole ship.
