November 10, 2020 - Join park staff for a special guided tour of the Mansfield battlefield on Saturday, November 21. The tour will visit key points on the field where some of the most significant action of the battle occurred.
Three (3) tour times will be offered: 11am, 1:30pm, and 3:00pm. Each tour will be limited to a maximum of 10 people including guide; masks and social distancing guidelines will be observed.
February 11, 2019 - Park staff will offer a unique presentation on the different types of field cannon employed by artillery batteries during the Battle of Mansfield and the various types of ammunition used on Saturday, February 23. The program will begin at 2pm inside the museum theater. How artillery batteries were organized and functioned in battle during the American Civil War will also be discussed.
May 11, 2017 - During the weekend of May 19 – 21, Mansfield State Historic will host a series of living history programs on the original ground where General Polignac’s charge hit the Union center during the 1864 battle of Mansfield.
July 22, 2016 - On Saturday, August 6, come out to Mansfield State Historic Site and learn about the medical treatment soldiers received during the Civil War. Using the backdrop of our museum’s hospital scene we will paint a candid picture of what it was like to have to visit what some Union soldiers called, “Uncle Sam’s Sawmill.”
April 25, 2016 - In recognition of National Kite Month, Mansfield State Historic Site will host a Kite Day on Saturday, April 30 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m. The flying of kites has been a great recreational activity in the United States for over 200 years, so take time to come out to the park and enjoy this great activity! March 7, 2016 - Mansfield State Historic Site, in conjunction with the Civil War Preservation Trust, will host its annual Park Day on March 19, from 11:00 a.m.-2 p.m. Since 1996, the Civil War Trust has sponsored Park Day, an annual hands-on preservation event to help Civil War battlefields and historic sites take on maintenance projects, large and small.
March 2, 2016 - On Saturday, March 5, Mansfield State Historic Site will host programs in honor of Women’s History Month. At 1 p.m., a living history program on the life of the common and “uncommon” soldier will be conducted in front of the museum.
