In God's Word: Jumping for Joy

January 15, 2020 - A tale of two women, one old and barren, the other young barely old enough to marry.

A man, Zechariah and his wife, Elizabeth of the daughters of Aaron, were growing old without child as Elizabeth had been barren all of her life.

As Zechariah served in the temple, an angel of the Lord came to him, an angel called Gabriel, telling him that his wife would conceive and have a son and that he would call his name John.

Being old and without child Zechariah asked for more proof of how he would know this to be true.

In God's Word: Are You Ready?

Are you ready for the coming of the Lord?

January 13, 2020 - If he comes this morning will you welcome him or will you try to hide from him knowing that you are not prepared to stand before him in judgement?

Those are hard questions that each must ask of himself for the day is coming when the Lord will come and call his own to him, will you be in that group, or, will you be left in the much larger group to face the Great Tribulation?

In God's Word: Slaves to Righteousness

January 7, 2020 - The gospel is said to be foolishness to those who do not believe; but the power of God to all who do believe and accept Jesus Christ as Lord.

"For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." (1 Corinthians 1:18)

For to those fortunate ones who know the way, and the truth, and the life, which is Jesus Christ, the future is clear and bright as we wait patiently for the day when we will be forever joined with our Lord.

In God’s Word: Be Not Troubled, Trust Only in the Lord

January 6, 2020 - Let all people look each day to the Lord for strength and help in times of trouble.

Let all people give praise and glory to the Lord God for our health and salvation for only he is worthy.

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1)

I need no other help nor support but that freely given me by my Lord God of heaven and earth.

In God's Word: Being Christian

December 31, 2019 - Jesus Christ did not form a religion as such. He formed a "New Way" of living, of thinking, of doing to others in life. As Jesus declared himself, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

We see from the pages of the Bible that Jesus treated all people with the same respect and compassion without regard for status, race, creed or color for Jesus looked at the hearts of men and not at their faces.

In God’s Word: Being Christian

December 26, 2019 - The name Christian depicts one who attempts to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ did not form a religion as such. He formed a "New Way" of living, of thinking, of doing to others in life. As Jesus declared himself, "I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." (John 14:6)

In God's Word: Christmas Week

December 23, 2019 - On this that the world today calls, "Christmas Week", let us all know why there is so much activity, so much rejoicing around the world for the Christmas holiday.

As it happened Jesus was born of the virgin Mary in a manger, a feed trough, in Bethlehem.

When he was eight days old his mother and her husband Joesph took the baby Jesus to the temple in Jerusalem to fulfill the Law of Moses, the required purification ritual and to present him to the Lord.

In God's Word: God's Holy Spirit and Me

December 15, 2019 - The Holy Spirit is my teacher, my Helper."But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things." (John 14:26) The Greek translation of the Hebrew word for Helper is "legal counsel", so he is my guide and counsel through life.

The Holy Spirit has come to convict me and the world of sin. "And when he comes, he will convict the world concerning sin and righteousness and judgement." (John 16:8)

In God’s Word: Permanence of God

More Bibles have been bought and sold than any other book ever written.

This is good for within the contents of this book are all of the answers to the questions of life and death, of salvation and loss, of right and wrong, all questions can be answered by the study of God's Word.

There is a poem within the Bible entitled, "A Time For Everything" written by the great king Solomon, the man credited with being the wisest man who has ever lived.

It begins, "For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven:" (Ecclesiastes 3:1)

In God's Word: My Light, My Salvation

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" (Psalm 27:1)

December 3, 2019 - Almighty God is my shield in battle every day as I go through this wicked world, is there anything of this world that is stronger than He? NO, God is bigger than the world, stronger than the universe, for all who follow him there is the comfort of knowing that He is in charge of all things.
