May 2, 2023 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors along with Cindy Furlow, owner of Hello Beautiful, will welcome Chamber members and the community to a Business After Hours event on Thursday, May 11th from 5:00 until 6:30pm. There will be great food to sample and a wonderful shopping experience.
May 1, 2023 - Summer and hot temperatures are right around the corner. The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Healthcare Committee is sponsoring a fan drive during the month of May. Fans will be distributed to several of our local non-profit agencies who will in turn make sure the fans are delivered to individuals and families in need.

April 19, 2023 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors will join Etex for a Ribbon Cutting ceremony on Friday, April 21st at 11:00am.
Etex, a telecommunications company, established in 1952 by a group of farmers in Upshur County, now serves parts of 13 counties providing connectivity to thousands of East Texans, hundreds of cell towers, school districts and countless counties and cities.
April 18, 2023 - The Chamber of Commerce Health Care Committee is hosting the April Lunch and Learn on Wednesday, April 26th at noon at the AgriLife Extension Office. The guest speaker for April will be Whitney Burran, Executive Director of the Family Crisis Center of East Texas.
April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month. In statement given earlier this month, Governor Greg Abbott encouraged Texans to help raise awareness of sexual assault and recognize the courage of survivors across the state and nation throughout the month of April.
April 3, 2023 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce announces the official results of the Shelby County Grill Fest barbecue cook-off competition held Friday and Saturday, March 31 and April 1 at the Shelby County Expo arena.
Grand Champion – Chase-N-Moore Smoke from Friendswood, Texas. Head cook was Shawn Moore. Reserve Grand Champion – Squeals on wheels from Bardwell, Texas. Head cook was David Lefler.
March 31, 2023 - Join the Fun at Grill Fest next weekend, March 31st and April 1st. In addition to sampling great barbeque you can participate in the 42 Tournament and the Washer Pitching Tournament, both sponsored by Shelby Savings Bank.
Both events will be held on Friday evening this year. Registration for the 42 Tournament begins at 5:30 and the Tournament begins at 6:00. Please note, this is an hour earlier than in the past. Registration fee is $10.00 per person / $20.00 per team. Winning team takes the jackpot prize.
March 28, 2023 - Cook teams from Texas and Louisiana will be competing for prize money this weekend at the Annual Grill Fest Presented by Farmers State Bank at the Shelby County Expo Center on Highway 7 East. Cooking starts Friday evening along with the 42 Tournament and Washer Pitching Tournament. The “Open” Adult Beverage and “Open” Food Competition will be held Friday night 7pm and 8pm respectively.
Judging takes place on Saturday starting with the Bloody Mary competition at 10am. There is still time to enter!
January 27, 2023 - The Shelby County Chamber of Commerce Ambassadors and Staff invite the public to join them at a New Member/Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting for Joe’s Italian Restaurant on Wednesday, February 1 at 10:30 am. They are located at 130 Nacogdoches Street in Center on the Historic Downtown Square and are open Tuesday through Sunday 11:00 am until 9:00 pm.
