September 26, 2018 - Notice is hereby given that a public meeting of the Appraisal Review Board of Shelby County will convene at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 at the office of Shelby County Appraisal District, 724 Shelbyville Street, Center, Texas. Shelby County Appraisal District Notice of Public Hearing on Budget

June 25, 2018 - The Shelby County Appraisal District will hold a public hearing on their proposed budget for the 2019 fiscal year.

The public hearing will be held on July 10, 2018 at 5:30 p.m. at the appraisal district office, 724 Shelbyville Street, Center, Texas.

A summary of the appraisal district budget follows:

2019 Proposed Budget - $700,458
Increase over current budget - $16,708
Employees compensated under current budget - 8
Employees compensated under proposed budget - 8

Property Owners Can Protest Property Appraisal Values

June 11, 2018 - Property owners who disagree with the Shelby County Appraisal District’s appraisal of their property for local taxes or for any other action that adversely affects them may protest their property value to the appraisal district’s Appraisal Review Board (ARB). 

A property owner must file a written notice of protest before Jun 15th or within 30 days after the appraisal district mails the taxpayer a notice of appraised value, whichever is later.
