May 11, 2021 - Come to Excelsior ISD Pre-K and Kindergarten Wildcat Round Up and become a Baby Wildcat starting May 17th - May 21st from 8am to 2:30pm.

Stop by the school office or call the office at 936-598-5866 to get an enrollment packet.

May 20, 2019 - Memorial Day services will be held at Cedar Yard Cemetery on Saturday, May 25, 2019. There will be a short business meeting at 11am followed by “dinner on the ground”. 

Cedar Yard Cemetery is located in Tenaha on County Road 4293.

Donations for cemetery upkeep can be made at the homecoming or mailed to Cedar Yard Cemetery Association president, Bill Whittington, P.O. Box 1477, Hemphill, TX 75948

January 14, 2019 - The public is invited to our Texas Historical Marker Dedication Ceremony at Excelsior School on February 23, 2019 at 10am. The Historical marker commemorates what is now Excelsior Independent School District as being the only Common School in Shelby County, Texas remaining out of approximately 90 common schools in the late nineteenth century.

October 4, 2018 - The State of Texas has declared Excelsior Common School No. 47 a historical site. Excelsior School has been in existence for over 120 years. Plans are in motion for a Spring dedication ceremony for the unveiling of the marker.

An Excelsior Alumni reunion is also being planned in conjunction with the marker dedication. This will be a first time reunion for Excelsior School. We are requesting copies of pictures and any of your Excelsior school memories. The reunion committee is also on the hunt for the oldest living student.
