February 21, 2024 - The Dragons Boys Basketball team defeated Chireno in the AA Region 3 & 4 Bi-District Playoff round and will play in the Area Playoffs, Thursday, February 22nd in Tenaha versus Douglass at 7pm. Admission is $5 Adults and $3 Students. District and coaches passes accepted.
January 18, 2024 - On January 9-10, Shelbyville Speech and Debate students Maddie Lout and Travis Caporali competed in the U.I.L. state congress competition held at the University of Texas in Austin and the Texas Capitol Building. Both students advanced to the finals with Travis Caporali finishing in the top 10 and Maddie Lout placing 4th in division AA.
While the actual competition takes place over the span of two days with fourteen hours of speaking, students spend months preparing their speeches to be delivered in a mock legislative process of democracy.
December 13, 2023 - Drive-thru food pantry will be Saturday, Dec. 16th, 9am at Hillcrest Baptist Church in Center, TX. Must have photo-ID, proof of residency and be in line by 9:30 am to receive a box.
November 10, 2023 - Shelbyville Middle School students will compete on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University in the 23AA Middle School Academic UIL District Meet on Wednesday, November 15th. Schools competing include Beckville, Garrison, Gary, Joaquin, Shelbyville, and Timpson. The Middle School One Act Play competition will be held at Panola College on November 30th with Garrison, Gary, Joaquin, Shelbyville, and Timpson competing.
November 10, 2023 - Shelbyville S. W. Carter Elementary School students will compete on the Stephen F. Austin State University campus in the 23AA Elementary Academic UIL District Meet on Tuesday, November 14th. Schools competing include Beckville, Garrison, Gary, Joaquin, Shelbyville, and Timpson.
October 27, 2023 - Shelbyville Volleyball will be playing Overton for the 1st round of playoffs at Panola College in Carthage at 7:30pm, October 31, 2023. Shelbyville is the Visiting team. No passes will be accepted and ticket prices are $5 for everyone.
