June 15, 2018 - Huxley Helping Hands, a local mission group from the Huxley community is holding a food pantry Saturday, June 16, 2018 for the residents of Shelby County. I.D. and proof of residencey is required. You will not receive a box if you do not bring photo ID.
Only one (1) box per household. Sign-in starts at 9am until food is gone. The food pantry is at Hillcrest Baptist Church, 901 Southview Circle, Center, Texas.
June 14, 2018 - Honor Band is the highest award a concert band can receive in the state of Texas.
The purpose of honor band is twofold. Many educators believe that through the process of hearing and observing the results of quality teaching, directors can develop their own instructional skills to a higher level. In addition, selection of an honor band in each classification recognizes communities and school systems that successfully support music in education through their instrumental music programs.
June 5, 2018 - The Outstanding Performance Series (OPS), sponsored by the Association of Texas Small School Bands (ATSSB), is a contest designed to select the most outstanding Class 1C, 2C/3C, 1A/2A, 3A, and 4A concert band programs in the state of Texas each year.
May 31, 2018 - Revival at Lydia Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Bob Sanders is set for Sunday, June 10 through Wednesday, June 13, 2018. Service Sunday is 11am and 6pm. April 25, 2018 - Parents of students living outside the Shelbyville Independent School District who wish their children to attend Shelbyville Schools during the 2018-19 school year must request transfer no later than May 29, 2018. This applies to both old and new transfer students. New transfers who are approved will be required to pay tuition to attend. To request paperwork, please call the Superintendent’s Office at 936-598-2641.
