November 8, 2018 - The Sabine and Angelina Ranger District is seeking candidates to fill vacancies on its Title II Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) created under the Secure Rural Schools Act.
The committee is responsible for the development and recommendation of projects that will benefit National Forest land in Shelby and Sabine counties, as well as monitor the projects and provide advice to the Forest Service.
January 16, 2017 - In honor of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas is waiving day-use fees January 16 at day-use areas in the Angelina, Sabine, Davy Crockett and Sam Houston National Forests, and the Caddo and Lyndon B. Johnson Grasslands.
October 7, 2015 - The U.S. Forest Service is seeking qualified veterans for paid training in prescribed burns and wildland fire suppression for temporary positions.
Veterans selected for the eight-week program must be 18 years or older with an honorable military discharge and able to complete a firefighter training course on the Ocala National Forest in Florida during the first two weeks of employment.
