May4, 2020 - The City of Center will resume regular Tuesday, bulky waste disposal at the City Yard on Riggs St. on Tuesday May5th. This service is only available each Tuesday from 8am until 4pm for residential customers with City garbage service on their water bill.
Please have your bill available for access into gates or call 598-2541 if you need assistance on site.

November9, 2019 - The Center City Council will meet in a Workshop Session on Monday, November11, 2019 at 4:30 p.m., in the Conference Room at Center City Hall. The following items are on the
agenda for appropriate action:
Presentation and Adoption of Report from Council Retreat on Strategic Planning Objectives and Work Plan
January 1, 2019 - The City of Center Public Water System, PWS #2100001, will be conducting water system maintenance beginning January 1, 2019, and lasting until January 31, 2019. The system will be switching to free chlorine as its main disinfection.
This maintenance which is not a requirement, but is the recommended course of action set by the TCEQ/EPA for the accumulation of disinfection byproducts.
January 16, 2018 - The City of Center offices will be closed today, Tuesday, January 16, 2018, due to inclement weather. Tuesday's trash route service will run tomorrow, Wednesday, January 17 and other trash routes will be delayed one day.

The Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) is pleased to announce that the City of Center, Texas, has received the GFOA’s Distinguished Budget Presentation Award for its budget.
June 3, 2015 - CENTER, Texas (June 3, 2015) – Center utility customers will soon receive postcard notices containing mandatory language for a system violation for haloactic acid (HAA5) levels. This violation is for the quarterly testing of chemical byproducts created during the water treatment and disinfection process.
February 2, 2015 - The City of Center is excited to announce regular recycling service will resume Tuesday, February 3. The recycling trailer will be placed at the Historic Square at its previous location.
