May 4, 2016 - Local Beekeepers James and Cindy Dotson (from Hemphill) and Mike Bordelon (from Huxley), spoke to the Deep East Texas Beekeepers Association about honey made products at their May 3 meeting in San Augustine, Texas.

March 2, 2016 - Pineywoods Beekeepers Association President Mike Bordelon, who owns and operates Heavenly Honey Apiary on Toledo Bend Lake at Huxley, demonstrated "How to Split a Bee Hive" to members of the Deep East Texas Beekeepers at their March 1 meeting in San Augustine.
February 24, 2016 - Local beekeepers Mike and Linda Bordelon, who own and operate Heavenly Honey Apiary on Toledo Bend at Huxley, presented a program to the Hemphill High School Garden Club, "Cabbage Patch Kids" on February 22. Students were able to ask questions and share their knowledge of bees during the discussion.
January 29, 2016 - Pineywoods Beekeepers Association members Mike Bordelon from Huxley and James and Cindy Dotson from Milam were the guest speakers for the January 28 Shelby County Bee Club in Center, Texas. The program was about products made from honey. Mike explained how to make cream honey and had samples to taste.
January 15, 2016 - The Pineywoods Beekeepers Association met January 14 at 7:00 p.m. at the Chamber of Commerce office in Lufkin for the first meeting of 2016 with 57 members and guests attending. Program Coordinator Marie Kocyan discussed beekeeping policies and regulations in Texas. The Pineywoods Beekeepers Association meets the second Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. Dues are $10 for e-mail membership and $16 for postal per family.
November 19, 2015 - Mike and Linda Bordelon, who own and operate Bordelon Bees Heavenly Honey Apiary on Toledo Bend Lake at Huxley, Texas, were the guest speakers for Newton Garden Club's November 18 meeting at the Civic Center in Newton.
