April 7, 2017 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic held their April meeting at the Sam Samford Lodge in Center on April 1.

March 6, 2017 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will celebrate Texas History Month at its March meeting, Saturday March 11 at 10am on the grounds of the Historic Courthouse, weather permitting. Billie Dawson and Merle Howard are arranging the program, beginning with a flag retirement ceremony and a flag ceremony. The Club will also have a recognition of Texas Honor Days in March: Texas Independence Day, Texas Flag Day, Sam Houston's birthday, Alamo Heroes Day and Goliad Heroes Day.

January 9, 2017 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet Saturday, January 14 at 10:00am at the Sam Samford Lodge in Center. Elizabeth Pate will have the program, talking about the Washington-on-the Brazos State Historical Park and the adjacent farm. Washington on the Brazos was where the Texas Declaration of Independence was signed and the Republic of Texas was born. 

October 3, 2016 - The William Carroll Crawford Chapter of the Daughters of the Republic of Texas will meet Saturday, October 8, at the Corley/ Harrison Heritage Farm near Tenaha.

Patricia and George Harrison will have a program and tour of their farm. (No hiking involved, transportation provided.)
