Community Joins Forces to Host Christian Crusade on Nov. 30th

November 30, 2022 - The last thing Christ directed His friends to do before He left the earth was to fulfill “The Great Commission,” a call to go into the whole world with the Good News and make followers of those who don’t know Christ. With this as their catalyst, community members and local churches have joined forces to organize KINGDOM HARVEST a one night crusade scheduled for Wednesday, November 30th at 6:30 pm. The event is open to the public and free to attend. It will be held at The John D.

BBQ Chicken Plate Fundraiser for Smyrna Church Youth Group

June 3, 2020 - Come enjoy a BBQ chicken plate on Saturday, June 6th from 11am until 2pm and support Smyrna Church Youth Group as they make plans to attend church camp! 

Delivery available in the Center area when 10 or more plates are ordered.

We will be selling plates at The Gathering Place, 708 Southview Circle, Center, TX 75935 and the Huxley Fire Station.

Pre-Sale plates are available and will include half-chicken, baked beans, potato salad, bread, and a bottle of water for $10 a plate!

NMC Health Network CEO Named President of St. Luke’s Baptist

November 25, 2019 - NMC Health Network Chief Executive Officer, Philip Koovakada, M.S.N., M.S.H.C.A., has been named president and CEO of St. Luke’s Baptist Hospital, part of the Baptist Health System in San Antonio, Texas. Koovakada currently oversees the strategic, operational and clinical activities of NMC Health Network, which includes the 161-bed acute care hospital, and 10 outpatient centers spanning both Nacogdoches and Shelby counties in East Texas.

NMC received the “A” rating in Leapfrog’s Spring 2019 Safety Score, demonstrating the hospital’s commitment to delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
