November 1, 2016 - Every parent wants the best for their child’s future, and one of the best ways to make sure your child will have a bright future is to be sure that you are correctly using the right car seat for your child and that the seat is correctly installed in your vehicle every time. The problem is that keeping them safe in vehicles isn’t as easy as it might appear. Most parents think they are using their car seat correctly, but unfortunately, at least three out of four car seats are used incorrectly.

October 18, 2016 - Jheri-Lynn McSwain, County Extension Agent of Shelby County, Texas was honored recently at the National Extension Association for Family and Consumer Sciences (NEAFCS) 2016 annual session. She received the 3rd place National and 1st place Region Florence Hall Award at the conference held on September 12, 2016 in Big Sky, Montana. In receiving the award, McSwain was recognized for her Step Up and Scale Down program conducted during 2014 and 2015.
October 17, 2016 - A continuing education course for integrated pest management professionals will be held in Nacogdoches on Nov. 9.
Registration begins inside the Nacogdoches Expo Center, 3805 NW Stallings Drive at 8 a.m. The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service course begins at 9 a.m. and ends at 3:40 p.m.

October 7, 2016 - Texas fire departments received more than $15 million in grants Wednesday through the Texas A&M Forest Service Rural Volunteer Fire Department Assistance Program. In the first of three funding meetings for the year, the RVFDAP awarded 442 grants to 421 fire departments for firefighting vehicles, training and safety equipment.
October 6, 2016 - The Texas A&M AgriLife Extension Service will be hosting Ranching 101 Friday, October 14th from 9am till 4pm. The event is open to TSCRA Members and the local ranching community. Ranching 101 will be held at 803 FM 2788 Center, TX. From TX-7 north of Center, turn south onton TX-500 at the intersection of TX-7 and TX-500. After 0.3 mile, turn left onto FM 2788. The event will be on the right after 0.2 mile. Follow TSCRA signs.
