January 13, 2022 - Officials with the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas, Sabine National Forest, have advised a prescribe burn, location in the Goober Hill Area, north of Forest Service
Road 125, and Forest Service Road 126.
November 9, 2021 – Many recreation areas and other venues in the National Forests and Grasslands in Texas will be free to the public on November 11 in honor of Veterans Day.
“We honor our veterans each Veterans Day and every other day of the year,” said Acting Forest Supervisor Kimpton Cooper. “We hope that this time will serve as a way for our veterans and other visitors to find our national forests and grasslands as a place where they can take time out for themselves.”
November 1, 2021 – As gun deer hunting season begins, U.S. Forest Service officials remind hunters of guidelines designed to make their hunting trips to national forests safe and enjoyable while sustaining the health of the forests.
Here are some other precautions:
-- During hunting season, camping in the Angelina, Davy Crockett, Sabine and Sam Houston National Forests and Caddo National Grasslands are limited to designated campsites or developed recreation areas through February 1.
