July 18, 2016 - An unknown suspect unlawfully entered into Haslam Tire Company located at 13320 Highway 84 East in Joaquin, Texas on Wednesday, May 18th, 2016 and stole several tires.

The unknown suspect illegally entered the building by prying open a bay door. Surveillance video footage captured the suspect making entry into the building. If you recognize the suspect in the video taken from the surveillance video footage, please contact Center Crime Stoppers.

July 5, 2016 - An unknown black male went to Adams Electric located at 502 Railroad in Center on Monday July 4, 2016 at approximately 9:55pm. There the suspect cut the lock from the gate gaining entrance into the back lot.

The suspect then pried open the back doors and entered the building and disabled one inside surveillance camera but failed to locate other cameras in the building. An assortment of tools were taken by the suspect, jugs of freon used for air conditioning units and then the suspect fled out the same way he entered.  

The Center Police Department Detectives Division is asking for the public to review the still shots from the surveillance camera to see if they could identify the suspect.

Bobby CartwrightUpdate May 16, 2016 - Bobby Cartwright was arrested by deputy Kurtes Lawrence with the Shelby County Sheriff's Office Monday, May 16 at 11:45 a.m.


May 11, 2016 - The Shelby County Sheriff’s Office is actively seeking the whereabouts of Bobby Cartwright. Cartwright is a registered sex offender and is wanted for failure to register/sex offenders duty to register.

Cartwright is a black male, 5’6, 200 pounds with brown eyes and black hair. Cartwright‘s last known addresses were on Railroad Avenue and George Bowers Drive in Tenaha. He also previously resided in Shelbyville.

May 13, 2016 - This bracelet was left at a local burglary in Center, Texas. Center Police Detectives is seeking information about the red and black rubber bracelet with the writing “What kinda junkie are you?” ”Social Junkie.”

Center Police Detectives are seeking information in regards to two residential burglaries in Center Texas.

On Friday April 22 2016 between the hours of 8:00am and 11am unknown suspect(s) went to two residences One residence located on Pine Street the other located on Lane Street. The suspect(s) entered through the back window and took an assortment of jewelry, a safe, cash, expensive purses, and a variety of other items. After leaving the residences in total disarray the suspects exited through the front door.

May 9, 2016 - On March 30, 2016 Center Police Department was dispatched to a Theft at the Center Walmart on Hurst Street. 

It was reported to officers that several black females along with several children had committed a theft inside the store. The adults loaded items inside plastic containers and attempted to leave the store with the stolen merchandise. All of the suspects including the children left in a Blue Dodge Durango which is seen in the following photo.

Update: The (2) suspects depicted in the photographs were found to be juveniles. The juvenile suspects came to the Sheriff's Department last night with their legal guardians to meet with the investigator regarding the cases filed.


May 5, 2016 - On Tuesday, April 26th, 2016 Patrol Deputy Adam Renfro took a report from a Danny Gage with Tenaska Operations regarding a criminal trespass and a criminal mischief incident that had occurred at the company's property located on County Road 3524 in Joaquin.

The unknown suspects illegally entered the property by cutting a fence line that enclosed the critical infrastructure site. Surveillance video footage captured the suspects. April 12, 2016 - On Sunday, March 06th, 2016 Patrol Deputy Bradley Horton took a report from a Christopher Adams regarding a burglary and theft incident that had occurred at his property located on County Road 3000 in Joaquin.

The unknown suspect(s) illegally appropriated the following property: a Gravely 50” Zero Turn Mower, a Briggs/Stratton Tiller Engine, a Dewalt 1/2" impact with battery, a handheld grinder, a skilsaw and a China Cabinet.

April 7, 2016 - According to a Center Police Department press release, law enforcement are seeking information to identify three male suspects who are wanted concerning the theft of electronic merchandise.

Press Release: On March 17, 2016 three black males entered the Center, Texas Wal-Mart and went to the electronics department. The suspects then took an assortment of items from the electronics department and fled the store without paying for the items. The three suspects left the store in a light colored four door car.
