Tigers Struggle in Lopsided Loss to Woden Eagles

Tuesday, March 14, 2017 – The Tenaha Tigers suffered a 23-0 loss to the Woden Eagles varsity baseball team at Tenahas’ Cole DePriest Ballpark.

Woden did not allow a Tigers hit but THS reached base twice on walks to avoid allowing the Eagles a perfect game during the, five-inning, run-rule shortened game. The Eagles had 10 hits and 14 walks during the game.

The Tigers were set down in 1-2-3 order in the first, fourth, and fifth innings. Tenaha got a late start due to a long run in UIL Basketball playoff action and are 0-2 overall, as well as 0-2 in District 23-2A Baseball competition. Woden is 8-1 overall and 2-0 in conference action.

The Tigers trailed merely 0-3 going in to the third inning but gave up nine runs during the top of the third inning, after walking four, and giving up four hits, to Woden batters.

The Tigers will regroup and get ready to host the Martinsville Pirates Friday, March 17 at 4:30 p.m. The Pirates last lost to the Joaquin Rams by a 28-3 margin.
